Arch de Triomphe

Today Mary and I took a stroll down the Champs Elysee Boulv. in Paris, right up to the Notorious Arch de Triomphe. For all those who don't know the main Paris sites, this is one of the top 5 places to go. The arch itself was built by Napolean B. after the success of Paris over some historical battle or something--I don't really know, still doing that research. The arch is nice and BIG. The Champs Elysee literally leads up to it and circles around it. We were walking for about 10 min up the blvd., like "are we there yet?" It doesn't look as far as it is cause initially off the metro it's really big. Boy were we wrong.
We decided to save the extensive walk up the arch for when Missy gets here because doing it twice was not appealing for today's gloomy weather--not to mention we couldn't really figure out how to get accross the main road cause the circle is extremely wide and VERY dangerous. There is NO WAY to J-walk that baby; it's the worst thing I've ever seen, including NY (which really isn't bad you whimps.) There is a passage underground that we are going to research before Missy gets here so we don't sweat beads the day of trying to figure it out.
Down the main blvd are the most expensive shops in Paris. Holy cow, even a really great Louis Vutton Store--I totally want a bag from there someday :( We stopped in the Perguot Display room (it's a foreign car brand); there were some really nice cars on display. I got my Grandpa his X-mas present here :) He will LOVE IT! It was REALLY windy today, but Mary and I had a good time anyway. Brownies!
