somewhat tourist town, as they had a unique zig-zag train ride through the
hills to the devil’s nose. The railway had a long history and it was certainly
a ‘nice’ ride, but for Ecuadorian standards (20 dollars each) it was quite
pricey, and we were not allowed to sit on the top of the train due some
unfortunate deaths a few years back, even though all previous advertisements
told us otherwise. No regrets though, it was a lovely view, but I don’t think
we would pay for the trip again
We had dinner in town, went for a little walk and took a
room at s small boutique hotel that was being refurbished, as the owner proudly
and gladly showed is in detail. The next morning we found the bus station after
breakfast and took the first bus available back to Quito- a gorgeous bus ride through the hills,
snow and large agricultural areas.
