A random weekend of fun was had by all on this snowbaording weekend up in Lake Ohau, we drove from queenstown (with a friend of a friend of a friend - jo's friend tania's mate's mate from way back!) to Ohau friday night and spent two glorious days on the ski field, numerous bruises later and we drove back to q'town on sunday night all sore and tired but having had a great weekend full of fun and laughs :-)

The slopes were, at frist, very scary to me because they were quite steep and thin in places, but after the first couple of runs i got my confidence up a bit and really enjoyed the saturday, the slopesd were empty compared with Queenstown. There was 13 of us in total and we all kinda knew each other through other people, it was funny. Most of the others were really good at snowbaording and were entertaining to watch try and do jumps and tricks. Unfortunatly at the end of sat Matt hit a jump a bit slow and his borad fell from under him and he crashed down on the snow/ice and we think he broke 2 ribs, poor guy had to leave the next morning for the hospital in christchurch. At the end of the second day Ryan also fell arkwardly and sparined his wrist. I, on the other hand, was just having trouble with my knee because I had strained it a bit snowbaording in the Remarkables and so I had a bag of frozen braodbeans on my knee most of the time(when not snowboarding). Saturday night we had a great BBQ and a few drinks of course but we were all pretty shattered so the drinking games didnt really get started! Sunday was another glorious day of sunshine and moore great snowboarding fun :-) it really is quite addictive but an expensive addiction!!
