On the way to Sydney from Byron Bay We made a stop at a surf camp in a place called Awawarra, it was really cool. The surfing was great fun and I even managed to catch a few waves (unfortuntaley I have no photo evidence cos I didnt want to take my camera). In the evening we had a few games, like aussie clothes line, which involved each team taking our clothes off and tryting to get the longest line on the floor!! was very funny. Then we headed down the beach to sit round the camp fire for a bit of a beach party. In the morning we did some more surfing it was flatter than the day before, but still really good fun.

After that we headed in land to Barrington Tops national park (the bus nearly broke down on the way as the radiator was hit driving over uneven road). Here we were in the middle of nowhere, there was all you can eat pizza served and a hot tub but it was an early night for me because surfing had tired me out! 01 Surf Camp rules

! The next morning I had booked to go Absieling, it was a beautiful day and I was pretty nervous about it. When we got to the cliff the guys talked to us about safety and stuff then tied the main anchor rope around a tree that was half fallen down, kind didnt feel to safe but added to the danger. The cliff was about 15-16m tall and it over looked the river, it was a beautiful spot. Going over for the first time was such an adrenaline rush and gettinbg to the bottom safely felt soo good. There was only two of us doing the absiel so we got to have three goes each :-) After a quick dip in the freszing cold river and a BBQ luch we headed of to Sydney.

The bus pulled up to a lookout point over the river to the opera house and the bridge that first night and it took my breath away. The opera house is such an outstading building. That night was saturday so we decided to sample the nightlife and had a great time drinking pitchers of cocktails. Yesterday we caught an explorer open top double decker bus around the town to do all the usual touristy stuff. We saw Woolloomooloo, where the navy ships are, the royal botanic gardens with flying fox-bats in the trees, the opera house and the bridge, The Rocks (the oldest bit of sydney where the convicts first arrived), Circular Quay and the Powerhouse museun. The museum was unlike any other i've ever seen - massive and very quirky. They had exhitis on 60s furnitre, trains, space craft, airplane, adverts and Kylie to name but a few. A lot of the exhibits were interactive too so it was great fun. Going to Darling harbour tonight and a boat tour of the harbour later today i think as I havent got time for Bondi Beach.

The boat trip was really good and we saw a lot of the harbour and the surrounding beaches. Darling harbour was quiet as it was a monday night but we still managed to see a drunk jumping off the bridge over the harbour naked!! was very funny. Also bumped in to Savannah and Charlie again, who were on the Fraser Island trip. Awoke very early the next morning though to get the bus to Melbourne at 6.45am...
