The food from the stalls was amazing and yes we did eat from the pigs you see BBQ'd in the photos...the pork was brilliant!...I wish I could shop for fruit and veggies in markets like this everyday...the spices and the size of everything was amazing....I don't think I have ever seen cabbages that big....or people that could carry sooo much stuff especially given their size...they need to give me lessons so I can carry my pack and all the other its and pieces I seem to accumulate!!!!!!
The photos are great ...we didn't take our good cameras as we were warned of pick pockets...but in reality we should have as the picture ops are fantastic!!!! My fav photos are of the old man and lady that sat next to us for lunch...their conversation was so animated I stole these 4 pictures of them and I LOVE them!!!!
We would have loved to have stayed all day but we have Spanish class to go to so it's back on the bus for the journey back to Quito.

Spanish was ok...I do feel like I know all the stuff she is teaching me...its just the recollection of information when it's actually required I am having a problem with ....it is not coming naturally to me to answer or ask in Spanish yet...I really have to think abut it all.BBQ night tonight and all you can drink till 8.30 so a night in at the Secret Garden is on the cards and then lots of updating this blog....oh and another hot shower.... LOVE having hot water again!!!!!!
Today si our last day in Quito and Frey and I are feeling very lazy and whilst we have heard good things about this city...it is a city.....so we will potter around and then go and pick up our documents for our Galapogas Tour and maybe venture up the chair lift to view the city and the go to the Basilica not far from where we are and climb the bell tower...unfortunately neither of us is much more interested in being tourists today so that might be it for Quito...we have found out there is a Turkish Spa around the corner and for US$6 we can hang there for 3 hours...this seems like a great plan ...spa...sauna, steam room and a book. Maybe we are flashpackers and not backpackers anymore!!! Haha!!!
We do have another Spanish lesson this afternoon so we had better start practicing what we have learned.
Tomorrow we are heading to the other Secret Garden in Cotopaxi...there is no internet there and no electricity....it's all organic etc and is at the base of the world biggest live active volcano - Cotopaxi....we will probably be here for 3 days or so...hoping to enjoy mountain bike riding hiking on the volcano lots of other outdoor things.

Always wanted to pop over to Ecuador - your photos are great!!! Loved the ones of the old couple chatting - felt like I was with you watching!
So jealous of your travels - can't wait to catch up when you get back. But, my gorgeous friend, stay away and travel away as long as poss!!! It looks like a fabulous trip!
If you find any bubbles, have one for me - or just carck a beer about 5pm any day.

PS Been back in Perth a week and it is chaotic getting sorted with beds, whitegoods etc - stuff from Vanners arriving still, stuff at Baden steet getting sorted and storage stuff ready to go to our new pad in Busso - yes, on the beach - do drop in!!! :-)
