Neils lengthy blog on all the boring details no one else could possibly be interested in. You are welcome to read and comment, but this is really just a memory dump for me and the thoughts as I travel

Entry 7 of 13 | show all | print this entry

We arrived in Bundi, and the hotel was quite nice. Oddly perhaps, this was a disappointment to me, as I felt yet again this reminded me of a saga coach tour, that you don't leave the comfort zone.

I was tired and fell asleep, and then couldn't be bothered to join the tour to see the palace, and was grumpy, that we couldn't be more local. I do regret this however, as this was Tejs home palace, and the main reason I thought he was not going to be there. Anyway,  I joined the group for a meal at this great little veggie restaurant by the river with a view of the lit up castle. We walked home through Bundi and I really enjoyed it. It was great to see this small town with its night life. A wedding procession passed us. At the front was a DJ cart, then about 100 people and then the groom on a horse. Somehow they got me into the dancing - me. Dance. Really. I thought the rest of the group would be with me but for some reason they could not move for laughing. This lasted for about 5 minutes and the older men asked me to leave as I was disrupting the procession, holding it up.

Overall Bundi was a great experience. Far to short a time was spent here, and I would love to come back for  2 or 3 days.
