Surprisingly nice!!! but where can you eat

Another bus journey...far too many of them recently. Our taxi took us to our hotel...looked okay...but there was no one on reception......someone shouted to an old woman on balcony...she shouted something back and eventually some lad arrived. We managed to get a room....was a little wierd....there were old women and birds in cages everywhere...looked like an old people home.....but it was cheap and cleanish. The lad disappeared to get change and never came back!! Went to book our bus out of there the next day....had to leave at 7am, so tried to get the people in hotel to understand that we needed to leave early.....and they couldnt or wouldnt understand.

Loja Square

Was feeling poorly, more earache....still not better....went for a walk, was hungry.....found a very out of place but lovely looking little shopping mall, where we decided to have food. Was all very odd.....looked like the place had just opened. When we ordered pancakes the guy had to go off alover the place finding the ingredients and clearly didnt like washing up, cause his sink looked worse than ours at home! was good food....if all a little odd.....my pancake was huge, but filled a gap nicely. Then we wandered some more.....not that much to look at....all very modern and uninteresting, quite a nice little square which they painting all the buildings around it, and school kids playing everywhere. Surprisingly modern i guess..... Were having problems finding anywhere to eat for later tho.....fast food...but no restaurants...seemed odd....cause it looked like the place had money.

Mountain roads to Loja

Gave up and headed back to hostel....where we tried again to explain that we needed ro leave early....i even tried in half decent spanish....but the guy just wouldnt listen, did reluctantly give us our change tho! we chilled and chilled. Then we decided we should eat something....i wasnt hungry and still not feeling well....decided to try the local fav sauchipapa...which is basically chips and savaloy.....was quite nice...well would have been if i hadnt been feeling very ill all of a sudden! was almost like english chips....and oh so cheap!

Headed off to bed feeling very ill.....where neil watched dodgy spanish TV.....

And that was equador.....we like equador we do!
