Guess wot - another colonial city!!!!

another day, another bus journey. So uneventful i really am having problems remembering what happened....guess that means not!!

Cuenca Cathedral

Had to get a bus backwards....thats back north....not one driving the wrong way....then change to another bus.....they ended up dumping us by the side of the road, not in the bus station as we expected...which confused us....fortuntaely some woman from one of the bus companies came to help us! And we finally got on a bus. Sure it must have been windy roads again....but been on so many bus journeys recently i really cant remember! What i do remember was that i wasnt very well. I had a cold which kindly Neil had given me....which would have been bad enough.....but going up and down over 2000m when you have blocked ears it seems is not a good idea! I ended up with very painfully blocked ears and was virtually deaf! Bet Neil wished he was deaf, cos i believed i winged quite a bit.....but then it was only fair as he had given me the bloody thing!

Arrived and got a taxi to our hostel. Was quite cool, a cafe...with little rooms out the back in a courtyard type setting....got a private room again...its a hard life these days! Enjoyed a hot chocolate and cappachino then went out exploring....more colonial buildings....most of which were shut as it was sunday! We wandered round hoping to find somewhere we could eat. Wasnt looking too good! Saw a couple of places.....wanted to go to the italian...so we wandered all the way back only to discover it was still shut! Had to go back to square and eat in a gringo place. Was okay...had spaghetti that was more like chinese! Couldnt face beer was too poorly! Then headed to bed it had been a long day of travelling again!
