It was another long day travelling and when we finally arrived we didnt have a clue where we were. The bus drivwer confirmed it was indeed Puerto Escondido but to us it look like a big bus satation in the middle of nowhere - not at all wot the guidebook indicated. Some local guy drew us a map in the sand to show us where to go as we didnt understand his spanish and we headed off.

After an age we reached a street on our map and it was still a long way. We were walking through the main town, not the tourist town we were heading for. Eventually we found it and the hostel we wanted. We headed out to look at the local beach and admired the training surf. I helped a local push his boat up the beach and we had some extremely yummy pizza off the roadside. It was so hot so when we got back we just sat in the communal area and chilled. Got chatting to an English guy from Kendal who told us the cheapest place to eat and we headed out ot try the 3 peso tacos. (thats 15p). We had 4 each which was yummy and then headed to bed. We were knackered cos of the heat so retired to our private dorm room.

The next day we got up leasurely and went to a cute litle Italian for breakfast. It was cheap, had lovely bread, great coffee and freshly squeezed juice. Then it was time for tyhe beach. We headed for the world renown mexican pipeline and sat on the beach and watched the surfers. The waves were massive, i´ve never seen them so big, so big infact that the surfers were scared of them!!!! Feeling way too hot, we haeded to the sun loungers on the beach, where we were waited on with cheap beers for most of the day!!! Its a hard life, aint it??

Decided we needed to really cool off so headed back to change into swimwear and find a safe bit of beach for a swim. The waves were still huge...if you weren´t watching the pulled you under....neil says like being in a washing machine....not quite sure how he knows!! Eventually the waves exhausted us so we went back to get clean and find food....wasn´t hard as we went straight back to the italian...amazing italian food...would rival that of Italy!!! Then it was bed time....after our exhausting day.

Today we had to leave, but not till late....so we spent another hard day on the beach doing exactly as we had done the day before....the differnce being we had coffee and a sandwich....and beer of course....bought Neil some swimming shorts cause the ones he bought when he was 10 were getting a bit tight!!! Then we stuffed our faces wityh more cheap tacos before heading for the nightbus into the mountains.....
