It took us 5 hours to get from Taxco to Acapulco stopping in at some very run down local towns. When we got there it seemed quite pleasent though we decided to get a taxi to the zocalo as it was very hilly. After being pestered by a local guy who wanted to show us the way we found our hotel. A cute litle local place with a fan and bathroom and a nice little balcony. After a brief rest i wanted to explore before dark so we headed off to find a beach. It was quite hot but it was nice to see a little beach crowded with locals. However Amy had a different impression. She decided she´d never been so hard done by. She decided it was in fact the worst day of her life. I still dont know why. Even after watching a car take out the rear off a knackered old bus and us finding shade and a very cheap beer she was still sulking. Acapulco was quite a beautiful place. We´d deliberetly avoided the really touristy bits with the big hotels and the more real bit was quite nice. Eventually managed to cool amy off so we went to have a sneaky peek at the cliff divers. They were amazing and so crazy. Diving fourty feet off the cliffs into a small pool of seawater. It was funny to watch them scale the cliffs and pray at there shrines before jumping. We then checked out a cute little mexican cafe in the zocalo.
The following day we returned to the beach we had a beer at the day before and just sat on the sand watching the locals set up their beach cafes. we then had comida corrida at the mexican, i had a huge beef staek and ames had chicken with mole (a mexican dish). Including the soup starter and the jelly desert it only cost 4 pounds for both and we were stuffed. So full in fact we didnt eat again that day. We just returned to the beach and had some more very cheap beer and watched the cliff divers twice more. The final time they dived by torchlight which was fun to watch
