Yellowstone here we come! Drove the 2 seconds down the road to Yellowstone to see Old Faithful! On our arrival the crowds were building so we waited. No-one knows exactly when it will errupt, and everyone kept getting excited everytime it sputtered. We waited some more, all desperate for the restroom. Sarah managed to get back in time, Neil managaed to get back in time, but poor old Anna missed it!!! And when it blows it blows, you would have to be blind to miss it! Pretty damn impressive!

Then it was lunchtime, except it was only 11am and the cafe wasn't even open! Can someone teach Jimmy to tell the time!

So what better to do than walk. We walked past loads of stinky, squirting geysers, and some amazing hot springs and bubbling pools. It really is like being on another planet! It is difficult to describe but certainly an experince not to be missed.

After a typical american lunch of chips and oreos, we went off to find some bubbling mud. Hubble bubble toil and trouble. Cool but very muddy. I decided to give the 6 million more geysers a miss and find a stinky pit toilet, and left neil to explore.

At our campsite we headed off to find some water too cool off in, and man did we cool off! The river which was just across the way, which we couldn't find for ages, was absolutely freezing! But we braved it and had fun splashing around.

Back at camp, cooked pasta, and had yummy local beer. By the time the ritual of tea was over, and man it was a ritual, have you ever known pasta sauce to take 3 hours to cook???? And then to throw away the pasta because it was slightly overcooked? We were nearly eating each other by this point we were so hungry! Then to top it all off the guy in the next camp brought over a bowl of meat and we all descended on it like vultures!!! Pasta was good when we finally got it, but would have been just as good 2 hours earlier! When the fire was finally lit, everyone went to bed! We sat by ourselves for a while trying become one with the fire....but got a little boring!

Just like ever other day we woke up....... unlike every other day however we were awoken to a small herd of elk wandering around our campsite, right up close to the bodies prawled around the ground!!

Hippie brekkie sucks!!!! Fruit is boring..... and gronola is for rabbits tho why they like it i cant see........

We herded into the bus and set out for more amazement..... boiling mud - pretty cool, breathing dragon caves - awesome!!!

Now for the supposed highlight..... the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone - a mellow walk apparently....... a mellow walk that had warning signs plastered all over it warning of the dangers of over exersion..... mellow?...my arse!!!! It was however a beautiful walk including a descent deep into the canyon right to the base of the waterfall..... only 300 plus steep steps. As you can imagine these steps were by far the highlight of amys entire trip.... i'm sure thats what she was saying or was that just my interpretation!!!!! The canyon was however very beautiful, full of yellow and reds and amy even loved the orange colours!!!!

Next was mammoth hot springs.... well it was supposed to be!!!! Only thing is i like ice cream.... and there was ice cream..... so if you wanna know about mammoth hot springs go to google.com and look it up!!!!!!! Amy had grizzly berry which supposedly was huckleberry.....wotever that is!!!!!!

We went to a river.... again..... We got wet...... again.....

We then headed to Big Sky Country - Montana..... to me the sky looked the same size it always was... only this time it was full of bleeding clouds and pissing down with rain...... sounds like the perfect time to go to an open air swimming pool????????

It was actually a spa resort which was fed from some hot springs, was ace mainly cos you could sit in the pool and drink beer!!!! We sat there so long we all turned into wrinkly prunes and had to take advantage of the facilities to restore our former beauty!!!!! We ate dinner in the saloon..... mmmmmmmmmm burgers!!!!! We did have to sit outside as Andy was kicked out and we persuaded them to let us sit out there..
