on a warm winters day julia took us for a drive out to krems, a town about 40 minutes away where her university is (its also the town with the region's maximum security prison, right next door to the uni!) we walked around her uni for a bit, which was nice and modern, then went back to the car. krems is a wine region (apparently!) so the hills are all terraced like italy. next we drove up a steep hill to a monastery, it was huge! we walked around for a while and julia pointed out all her town's priests in the photos, one of them has published a cooking book which was available in the gift shop! then we drove back to st polten, the closest city and went to a chinese buffet lunch then walked along the main street for a bit, stopping to purchase some suitable shoes! then we headed back home for a traditional cold dinner. that night we went to the dom (main cathedral) for a concert christa's (julia's sister) school put on. it was very good and the church was beautiful but we had to stand the whole time and it was a little chilly!
