Day 3: Much, Much, Much better. Note to future students: When they say walk in Interaction Park, bring comfortable hiking boots! It's not like the U.S. where you can walk around the park in 20 or 30 minutes, more like 2 hours
Strasbourg, La Petite France, the city was pretty and interesting. You can see French and German architecture everywhere. We first visited the Cathedral Notre Dame de Strasbourg. It is a very large Cathedral and the size of it is amazing. Inside there are beautiful stained glass. There is also a monument to the soldiers of WWII. Our first order of business after the visit to the Cathedral was food. Pretzels to us Bretzels to them, doesn't matter they taste wonderful. As you stand there looking at the rack of pretzels you wonder where the hot ones are, not a problem, they take if off the rack, throw it on the grill and in a few minutes you get a wonderfully hot, fresh pretzel.
I window shopped on the way to the muesum of history where my group decided to visit. The muesum was pretty neat. They have some stuff that is interactive, like trying on knights helmets (they are heavy, and some hard to see out of). You get to see clothing, pottery, dishes and portraits of kings. The visit also helped when it came time to meet our group back at the Cathedral to go for a boat ride. It helped connect people and what they looked like with the large buildings. After the boat ride we had more free time which we used to find chocolate at the La Cure Gourmande, they had some very neat (and delicious) chocolates and buscuits (cookies). There are many shops in the area and a market with some very old books (in French of course!). We shopped for about an hour until time to head to our restaurant. We ate at the Caveau Restaurant Gurtlerhoft, as the name implies it is in a cave. We had Tartre Flambe, which is Very good, kind of like a huge tortilla with a cream sauce topped with pork (read: bacon) and cheese, then finished with a italian cream/raspberry type ice cream slice. This restaurant, atmosphere, and staff were great and I had a really good time there. So now I am back at the looking foreward to some rest and to tommorrows visit at Ludwigsburg Palace.
