so here i am in borneo and diving and diving and diving.  im gonna feel bad about going back to ko tao because the diving here is so much better.  sipidan is famous for its sea turtles and i sure havent been disappointed.  we pulled up to the tiny island itself to check in with the park rangers (they only give out 100 permits a day for diving there so there is quite a waiting list) and there were two huge sea turtles mating right next to our boat in the water.  you want to talk about an unorganized discombobulation, try and picture 2 giant turtles floating at the surface trying to mate.  it was pretty funny.  sipidan itself is a tiny little volcanic island off the coast of borneo.  its really interesting because on one side of the island the coral literally drops away from 1 meter deep to 600 meters straight to the bottom.  its a little freaky diving along the face of the cliff when you know there is nothing between you and 600 meters below.  this is where the turtle cave dive site is.  there is a cave where turtles in the past have gone to sleep and when they come up for air they cant find their way out and end up drowning.  kind of sad but apparantly there are a bunch of skeletons in the back of the cave and that would be cool to check out but im not cave certified and that scares the hell out of me truth be told so we just check out the mouth of the cave and then continue on.  there are turtles all along the dive site and they are just so cool and laid back.  you can get great pictures with the ones that are sleeping because they just latch onto the rocks underwater and doze and dont give a shit.  the green turtles (species) are so big, you have to wonder how old they are to grow to such huge sizes.  turtles are probably my favorite sea faring animal so im living high on the hog right now.  ill be loading pictures in a few weeks of the diving but you wouldnt believe how weird and wacky some of the fish look here.  they dont even look like fish most of the time.  tomorrow is the last day of diving here but ill definitely be back in the fall for more diving.  stay tuned for more adventures
