Although my mom and brother live in Vegas, I will be staying at the Rio for the entire trip.  I was comped three nights and have an invitation to judge the Miss Rio contest.  Of course arriving at 11 in the morning my room would not be ready, so I went to my mom/brother's apartment, first.  Since I was up all night, I crashed on the couch for a few hours.  Bill, my brother, was also up all night working.  He is a professional gambler and was putting in some time at one of the casinos.  After I woke up, I had lunch with my mom...my brother was still sleeping.  Next, I checked into the hotel and started earning my next comped trip to Sin City.  I spotted the Miss Rio contestants practicing for tomorrow's show.

Part of the promotion was a cocktail party with the Miss Rio contestants and I was able to bring one guest.  There you would cast your votes (3 selection) to select who out of the 20+ contestants will earn the 10 semifinalist spots Rehearsal #1

 .  The cocktail party was 7-9 but my brother did not wake up until 7.  By the time he showered and drove to the casino, it was 8:30.  At this point I had already lost my daily limit of a grand :-(    We went to the Masquerade Showroom, did some power drinking and met some of the contestants.  Actually I only talked to one contestant, Sara.  There I found out that the contestants were provided by some modelling agency to the Rio for this contest.  Also, I got a promotional picture with two other contestants.  When I casted my vote, Sara's number was on the ballot.

Having downed 3 rum and cokes in a half hour, I was sufficiently buzzed.  Bill and I continued our night at the Masquerade Bar.  We meet two women who was also enjoying a night out in Vegas.  I am a little hazy on the rest of the night, but it was a good time...and a rough morning afterwards.
