After the round at the Golden Horseshoe, we gave Marty a call.  Marty was my trainer when I started with Lockheed Martin 11 years ago.  He still works for LM in Washington DC, but he and his family lives in Williamsburg and he commutes to DC and back every weekend.  Mike is also friends with Marty because they Josh and Kelsey

were in the same Navy Reserve unit.  Marty was doing nothing special and invited us to his house.  When we arrived the 18 month-old twins were still sleeping.  We drank some lemonade and chit-chat for about 30 minutes.  When the twins woke up, we went up to their room.  It was entertaining watching Mike play with Kelsey and Josh.  Marty and Liz were ready to offer Mike a babysitting job anytime he wants to come down to Williamsburg for a visit.

Later, I got a call from Jim, my old roommate from Navy flight school.  When I planned this trip to Williamsburg, I emailed Jim that I will be near his home in Virginia Beach.  Fortunately I was able to see Jim before he transfers to Fort Worth.  We coordinated to meet at a restaurant in Kings Mill.  Since Jim lived an hour drive away, I told Jim to give me a call when he was finally at Williamsburg.  Jim and I at Kings Mill

When Jim called from Kings Mill, we were still at Marty's.  It took awhile to pry Mike away from the twins, but eventually we did meet up with Jim for dinner.  It was great catching up with Jim over a few beer and a delicious New York Strip steak.  Afterward we walked off some of the dinner and checked out the river view at Kings Mill.  It is a gorgeous resort and I need to add this place on my list of places to stay.  I bid Jim good-bye for now but I arranged to have dinner with him and his family next Wednesday.
