Not big, not small. It is just a city with not many attractions, but good to have a first taste of the Malay life. Night Market, Day Market, the river side. Talking around with people and looking at the old (chinese origin?) owner of the guest house taking never ending naps at the entrance of the guest house (something really close to what would look like a happy end of life). I checked out also the Malay Welfare system: 50 Ringit, blood pressure, two doctors checking my back, x-ray, painkiller injection and also some painkiller pills to take in the coming days :-) amazingly quialified (at least i hope, since my back needs to carry the bag still for long!). Now that I'm writing it seems ok, so hopefully they got it right! The city was welcoming, especially the out-of-path on the riverside passing through the residential part (spanning from super rich houses with CC-TV and barbed wire) to slums-looking houses. It was nice to talk with the kids and the fishermen at the river. Outside the path there is always something that you have not read about in your guide!
