Lima is nasty.  Barranco is the best thing they have going, since Miraflores is way overcommercialized and has little to offer in the way of good food.  We did manage to find good food, cheap drink, and live music, though each in its own venue.  We also saw pre-adolescent boys in exquisitely tailored suits singing karaoke for a captivated (no, not captive) audience.  I have to admit, they kicked ass, and I am afraid for their futures as potential child celebrities.

We pumped Mollie full of vaccine with help from an amazing pediatric nurse (same department, apparently) and got the hell out of Lima.  If it weren´t for La Posada del Angel and this awesome local watering hole in the pictures below, Barranco´s nightlife would´ve fallen flat.

These damned photos won´t upload.  It´s the second time its hanging at 98% due to the slow connection.  Give us a while and we´ll catch up when we have broadband/wifi.  GPS Tracker is currently out of order; it probably has to do with the hemisphere change.

After two days we left and headed for Paracas, a desert/ocean nature reserve where we would meet up with Silvio, a tour guide in his silver years, who would loan us his spare bedroom, feed us fresh scallops, and launch us into a work exchange I never saw coming...
