Tonight (wed) i had a whole bunch of mates around to celebrate me leaving (hoo-ray! they say -thankyou all so much for coming). It cartainly was a great night and it was also hard saying goodbye to friends at the same time. Greg has just found a nice piece of pavalova in my fridge left over from my family dinner which was before all my mates came over.
Well i really dont know what to think at the moment my evening was a bit a blur with the many things i still have left to finish - much to my mums stress a little earlier in the evening. i am sure my parents and especially my mum are a little more anxious than i am at the moment. i am feeling pretty relaxed about everything and i am excited which the question coming most from my friends. Gregs excited for me - he just finsihed the pavlova. i am sure the significance of my trip will hit me even more as say goodbye to my parents and grandparents at the airport tomorrow or should i say later today.
i have a bit of last minute shopping to do tomorrow morning before heading out to the airport in the morning. i have to stop bu my uni to grab a UNSW jumper and then to the airport. i will be flying singapore airlines to singapore (8 hours) and then have a 4 hour stopover from (12am-4am AEST) before another 11 hour flight to johannesburg where i arrive at 7am local time - go the jet lag!!!!
i will be spending 10 days in south africa with a close friend (andrew) who just returned home after living in australia for 3 years. i will be going on a short safari amoungst other things and i am looking forward very much to all he has planned for me.
i am believing this is going to a safe, prosperous and eye-opening trip and i will return with a far greater world picture and also a greater understanding of my faith with the big man upstairs - Jesus Christ.
i will see you all once again in 7 months time when i return at 7.30am Saturday the 18th Feb 2006.
i wish all of you all the best in your endeavours over the next half year.
God bless you all.
