We're now in Singapore, the last part of our trip, before getting to Perth
It's hot and sweaty.................no....its's hot and REALLY sweaty!!!!!!
We're carried on where we left off in Hong Kong, being tourists and running around and not getting the rest we had intended. We of course went to the Raffles Hotel and had a Singapore Sling (well Nat did, I had a G&T with "ice and slice") and ate at Little India, where for about the price of one Singapore Sling at The Raffles we ate like kings and had a couple of beers into the bargain as well!!!
Just come back from Sentosa Island, a small holiday resort island in Singapore Harbour. We had great fun taking a cable car over to the top of the island, then getting downhill to the beach, on a luge/toboggan. After wandering along the beach at sunset, where we bent down to put our hands in the water and a wave washed over our trainers, causing Nat to do a Charlie Chaplin impression and stagger back before falling onto her bum....I guess you just had to be there!!
Earlier today we'd gone on a trip to Changi POW Prison, where our excellent guide, Helena, told us all about the history of Singapore during the war. A very moving and thought provoking trip, and we only wish we had been staying one more day to go to the Rememberance Day service being held the following morning.
We've also been running around trying to price up a new camera, before deciding that we'd be best to wait and see what happens in the way of jobs once we hit Oz.
Next update when we get "home" to Perth......
