Hello again

Spent the day out at Jurmala, Riga's coastal getaway.

A 30 minute train ride from Riga (and only gbp1.27 return) lies the 20 kilometre beach at Jurmala. On arriving we had a wander around, stopping first at the sand sculpture festival.  Some of the artwork was truely amazing and we still can't work out how they manage to do it.  As the weather improved decided to hire a 4-wheel pedal car, kinda like a golf buggy that you pedal yourself.  Great fun was had as we weaved in and out of the traffic and pedestrians, waving at the locals as they dove for cover from Nat's steering!!!!

A well earned ice-cream later and we took a stroll along the magnificent beach, and dipped our toes in the Baltic Sea to cool off.  We did stop short of the full swim unlike some, just like Scotland it was the young kids and OAPs that were splashing about, everyone else obviously realised it was just far too cold!!!!!

Had a lovely dinner of Lamb and Chicken Kebabs prepared on the barbie, washed down with some of the local brew.

The train journey back to Riga was spent nodding away like the Churchill Insurance dog as the day's excersions took their toll...........

Early to bed as lots still to do as tomorrow is or last day in Riga.
