Our final stop before going back to the hotel was the Basilica of St. John, which some claim is built on the tomb of St. John the Apostle. This was the only day we got rained on while sight-seeing, but it was just a drizzle. We had free time to walk around the area, which was perched atop a hillside with a wonderful view of the city below.

Interestingly, this was where we encountered a salesman pushing "old coins." Amy laughed at the guy who cornered her as he asked, "You think fake?" She remarked if they weren't, they were illegal.....which was then followed by some cursory remark in Turkish from him with the only English we could understand being, "Marble illegal, not coins." Uh huh. Back on the bus, we had a good laugh about "Genuine Fake Antique Coins!"
