Travelpod dumps you here even though there's no text until we get to Istanbul. So we'll start with some pointers, since the site can be a little confusing to first-time users. If you already know what you're doing or want to figure it out yourself, just click the "Next Entry" link in the black bar above or below this entry to get started!

First, the entry text is always down the page a little bit. It's supposed to automatically jump to where the entry starts, but it doesn't always work. So if you just see a picture of a mosque and a map of the world, scroll down!

All of our text entries have photo albums. We tried to include some choice photos in the entry text, but there are more good ones in the photo albums, too. You should see a few thumbnails right above the entry text. You can click the "XX more thumbnails" link (if it's there) to see the rest of them in small form, or click the "View photo album" to bring them up a little larger. You can click on any of the thumbnails, the pics in the text, or the pics in the photo album to bring up a single photo view. If you're primarily interested in the pictures, you can use the "Previous Photo" and "Next Photo" links in the single photo view and the "Previous Album" and "Next Album" links in the photo album view. Each album will also have "Previous Page" and "Next Page" links if there are more than 12 photos in them, and the larger albums have links that let you control how many pictures to show per page. The "View as slideshow" link is also a neat feature, although some of the photos have "stories" that explain them a little bit, and these don't show up in the slideshow.

Some photo albums have movies as well, which should show up as movie icons instead of pictures. These are in .wmv format, which should play fine on any PC. We tried to keep the file sizes small, and you can start playing them as soon as the player opens up. Macs may need a Quicktime plug-in to play them. Note that the "View as slideshow" link will skip movies.

If you scroll all the way to the bottom, you can see a list of all of the entries that have text. Click a date to skip directly to that entry, or click the camera icon to bring up an entry's photo album.

Now you must be itching to see some Turkey pictures, so click the "Next Entry" link in the black bar above or below this entry to get started!
