We waited in line at customs, picked up our bags and then headed to the entrance to meet our guide. His name was Ndaskoi (spelled as sounded) and he would turn out to be absolutely fantastic. His huge smile and welcome to us was wonderful. He gathered our bags and herded us off to the land-of-waiting-Land-Rovers. We had met up with the "two Judys" (as we would refer to them as) walking through the airport in Seattle, but we hooked up with Donna and Bob (our clowns) at Kilimanjaro. We all introduced ourselves as we waited for the last of the bags to arrive and then headed off to the hotel.
The evening was quite cool and the air smelled of corn and burning wood
We arrived at our lodge in Arusha, the Moivaro Coffee Plantation, checked in and proceeded by flashlight to our hut. The room had 2 single beds (who cared at this point), mosquito nets, a tiled floor, fireplace and a bathroom with no doors. Thank goodness for living together for so long.
We remember taking a quick shower and saying, 'Good ni.......' We crashed.
