Just a quick one from Ljbljana.

We only had a couple of hours stopover from here on our way to Dubrovnik so we left the bus station in the hope of finding out a little more about Slovenia's capital city and perform a couple of chores such as change our useless USD travellers cheques into hard currency (Euros). A word of warning to any who are thinking about travellers cheques in the future.. DON'T!!! They really are a pain in the behind these days as most banks laugh at you when you present them. Either that or they take half of the money in commission and a reduced rate. Anyway, lesson learnt.

So, Ljbljana like a lot of the cities we've visited recently, is a great place going through the obligatory changes the free market seems to be dictating to Eastern Europe as a whole. The city has a nice vibe to it and is very pleasant to walk around. It was high 30's when we were there but there's lots of shady lanes/streets to wander through and admire a city with a vibrant cafe culture.

Unfortunately we didn't have much time to accomplish anything of particular note but just thought we'd update and share some photos with you on a city that's very worthy of at least visiting for a day or two if you ever found yourself in Slovenia with nothing to do.
