The trek was not far from the camp. They took us by boat and we then had to scramble up the bank. It rained fairly hard and so it was very very muddy. The forest was fairly dense but there was a path and the guide pointed out several trees and other plants used by the natives for different things. Unfortunately I can't remember any of it. We saw several centipedes and millipedes and I can just about remember how to tell the difference between the two.

Quite honestly I did not find all this very interesting. And I did not look forward to the night hike that evening.

After lunch was fee time but I decided to take up the offer to go fishing. There were 3 of us and only one had fishes before. So off we went in the boat. Alongthe was we saw the biggest orang utan so far. He was on his own and not too high up the fig tree. We could clearly hear him crunching the fruit and spitting some bits out. A while later we saw a big crocodile and then another. this seemed to be a good time to be on the river. Unnfortunately nothing more.

We got to the fishing site. The guide acrambled out of the boat and dug into the and got some worms for bait. He put the worm on my hook and showed me how to cast. Almost immediately I caught a cat fish, not very big but a fish none the less. First ever. The others caught one or two as well and our total haul for the afternoon was 8. We put some back and took the rest back to the camp to eat that evening. They were delicious.

In the evening after dinner we went for another walk in the forest but this time close to the camp. Saw come tiny frogs and bird asleep in the trees but we were seeing things that we had seen before so not all that exciting. Tomorrow is my last day here and look forwaed to more activity.
