I flight to Lima was  quite short and i was sorry to leave Ecuador. The places that I went to were interesting and  travelling in the country was cheap if not always comfortable. The people were friendly and I was lucky to meet local people who gave me good tips on the places to visit. Hotel accommodation out of Quito was very reasonable but hot water was not always available os cold showers were the order of the day. Not a hugh problem because the weather was quite warm. I was lucky that it was dry for most of the time. I think that the country has a lot of potential fro tourists and the scenery was fantastic varying tfrom the high mountins to jungle and the coast.

Now I look forward to Peru. My stay in Lima was only overnight as the flight was booked for the next day but a walk round the area I was staying in was interesting, although not too far away were areas to be avoided by tourists.

The date on your last entry is December 2 2008. It seems that you are sending us blogs from the future ! In which case can you tell us who won the US election and are we out of the Sub prime mess yet ?
