This place has a number of Islands and one ot them is named after columbus. I went to another smaller one by boat. I was dropped off and began walking on the only path through the village. I decided to take a detour up the hill to get a better view. I went through a grave yard and the path suddenly plunged into thick fores. I stayed on it for a while by decided that there was a good chance that I would get lost. I should have got one of the kids to act as guide. So I retraced my steps but did sit for a while listening to the sounnds of the jungle.

Back on the main path I went into a small restaurant and had a cold drink. The people there came originally from Jamaica but their original culture has been diluted. For example they did not know how to play cricket. The other interesting thing I learnt was that although school is free up to the teenage years they then have to pay, which many canīt afford to it idleness or getting married with no prospects. A vicious circle. So they live with their parents in extended families.

I the evening the boat came and picked me up to take me back. Nice
