Where I stayed
South Campground Zion National Park
After settling in we broke out the bikes and rode along the Virgin River to the trail end at Canyon Junction. This is a lovely paved trail that crisscrosses the river with majestic peaks rising on both sides. We had stopped for photos and as we were getting back on the bikes Nancy saw movement out of the corner of her eye – tarantula! This was one big spider and we watched – from a safe distance – as it crossed the path and then found his way down into the drainage.
We checked at the campground early and found the perfect campsite, easy access to the shuttle, train along the Virgin River and the Visitor Center.
