Coyotes yipping at sunrise and the moon setting over the western lake shore; quail in the campground; bison and antelope grazing on the golden slopes along the road to the Fielding Garr Ranch; views across the grassy plains and Great Salt Lake to Ogden and the Wasatch Mountains. Trails that climb high above the plains and the quiet is broken only by your own footsteps and the sound of the wind . . . this is Antelope Island.
On the southern end of the island is the Fielding Garr Ranch, in continuous operation since the mid 1800's until the 1981. It is now open to the public and rich with the history of ranching on the island and a vertiable museum of farm equipment.
After two glorious days on this island we pack up to continue our journey south to Bryce Canyon National Park.
