We arrived at Richards Bay, South Africa on day 88 of our cruise through some rough weather with heavy rain. There was a shuttle to town through South Africa's largest harbor through railways, oil and gas pipelines linking this port to Johannesburg. There was also an aluminum smelter, fertilizer plant and titanium is mined close to the harbor. So you can imagine what it was like to drive in the shuttle through this place with all the heavy equipment. rain never let up so we opted not to take a tour and instead went to an ATM to get some Rands, South African currency, and then to a close by mall where we bought toothpaste, wine and some nuts. At the check out line the cashier said that the nuts were too expensive and she took them out and wouldn’t let us buy them. Could you imagine that ever happening in the states? This mall was very modern with all of the big name stores. We only spent a few hours there before catching a shuttle back to the ship as the rain continued to come down. Since it was such a bad day we didn’t take any photos of Richards Bay. I tried to do some computer work but had a problem that prevented me from getting on the internet, so we had a relaxing afternoon and saw another good movie "The Royal Affair". Tomorrow we dock in Durban, South Africa. The pictures uploaded are of Maputo
