It has been 2 weeks since I have returned home from Chile and the my time in Chile were too short.  Somedays seemed to drag on forever but in the end it seemed to fly like a dream. My last few days in Parral were great.  On Friday August 21 there was a party at the house and all the teachers from the school were envited.  There was a lot of food, music and dancing.  I did not really hang out with the teachers outside of school so it was nice to see them let their hair down.  By 4:00am everyone was gone and it was time to clean up the mess.

The next day they had a party with family and friends.  I was supprised to see the my friend Sebastian was invited.  He was my BIGG SURPRISE!!  Everyone wants me and Sebastian to be a couple.  Even though he is very cute and smart he is too young for me and I think we are good friends so why mess it up.  The night was filled with music food and lots of dancing and slowling the night became day and all my guests were gone by 5:30am this was an new record.  THe next day I slept in late and later I walked Sebastian to the bus station to say my final goodbye.  We promised to write and so far we have kept our promise I get an email from him at least twice a week.

On Monday August 24th I had the task of going back to the school and saying goodbye to the children.  I had a speak prepared but when I entered the gates of Instituto Parral the words got stuck in my throat and the tears began to flow.  I did not know it would be this hard to leave these kindhearted folks.  Only 2 months ago I walked in the classroom for the first time and now it seemed like a life time.  They gave me gifts and hugs and said loads of wonderful things about how the would miss me and all I could do was know my head and cry.  It was time to go and the fresh air outside was a welcomed relief.  Before I left my little friend Estaban ran to give me a hug and to say that he would miss me. I gave him a hug and kiss and waved goodbye.  He stayed at the door waving through the glass and my heart began to break once again.

We went to the house and Eliana made me a good lunch and packed a few sandwiches for the ride to Santiago.  Funny that is the same thing my mom would have done.  She busied herself with packing and cleaning up the lunch dishes trying to occupy her mind so she would not have to think about me leaving.  At the bus station she talked to the conductor and told him that I did not know alot of spanish and I would need his help taking a bus to the airport.  "Make sure she dosen't get lost" she said in spanish.  Spoken like a true mother.  We hug and cry and I get on the bus and wave.  The coolest thing, as bus pulled out of sight Raul and Eliana gave the peace sign and I could not help to take a picture.  Of the thousands of photos I have taken that one is priceless.

The bus ride went quickly and then I was in the station in Santiago.  The conductor took my bags to the terminal for the airport shuttlem and 15 minutes later I was headed for the airport.  Check in was easy and within 15 minutes I was at my gate.  I got a bite to eat and waited for my plain headed for the US.  Before I left I called Eliana and Raul and they were sitting at the table having dinner.  I told them I would be in touch and ended the call with "Te Quiero A Morir"  Raul laughed and said,"Yo Tambien."  (Me too).

Well 13 hours and 2 planes  later I am in good old Ohare airport waiting for my mom to pick me up.  She arrives and I spend the next 2 hours telling her all kinds of crazy Chilean stories.

That is the end of this story my friends but I am sure another adventure is waiting for me just around the corner.  Until next time, be good to each other and live the adventure.

so long chili
loved the blog, they have really got some happening dance moves there in chili. it reminded me of the house parties we use to have in PITTSBURGH, minus the thick cloud of smoke(i never inhaled :D), the fights, and the police breaking it all up,'good times, good times.' well glad to see you back in the old US of A, but remember Europe isn't so far away.

Glad You Are Home
Thank you for the end of the adventure in Chile. It is great to have you home. I am glad that God blessed you while you were away. He will continue to open doors for you to enter. It is my prayer that you will slow things down enough to hear God speak so you will walk in his perfect will. While you are home set time to spend with God so he can make you into the woman he wants you to be.

Thank you for sharing your trip and your life with us. We love you very much. We are praying for you daily. The best is yet to come. Live your life for Christ and you will see great things from God.
