Samburu Game Reserve

Samburu had nice buildings to stay in, instead of tents. Our cabin was right on a river, so it did have a view over the reserve's wall.
Here there were monkeys everywhere. They would try to steal anything, especially items from the tables. They employed locals with slingshots to protect everything. Pretty amazing to see the ongoing battle. We also went out to Jane Goodall's Chimp Sanctuary.
We were here for two days and had safari drives each morning and afternoon. We even got out of the vans to get a group picture in the wild.
Animals seen include: elephants, baboons, giraffes, leopards, crocs, bunch of birds, lions, gerenuk, jackals, water buffalo. It was kind of amazing to see traffic jams of safari vehicles at some animals - the main place was a leopard up in the tree.
On the way out on the 11th, we did see some ostrich. We also had to stop at a souvenir shop (what tour would be complete without that). I decided to limit my purchases to the hotels / camps. Figured I would get better quality items. I might have paid more, but it was simpler.
