since my last entry Rich n i have been quite busy out on the town.

firstly to the Big Day Out, which is a one day festival that tours most of the capital cities. the day started off with a lift in from my me ma, with a quick stop off at a servo for some chewies for later. once we were searched, we had to line up to get our drinking wrist band. Rich n i conceided by going on the over 30's queue (bugger), we were in to an overcrowded hot  n steamy festival, so headed straight for the bar. i drank way too much too fast to overcompensate for my dislike for crowds until i had something to smooth things out and then i was well on my way for the evening. dancin my arse off to Rage Against the Machine at the back of the oval by the grandstand, a known fave stops for me n my mates who deserted me to miss the crowds at the end, including Rich who had went to the Boiler Room earlier to see Krafty Kuts n never came back. so even tho we said we'd meet up at the ferris wheel if we were to lose each other i decided to go look for Rich at the end of the Paul Kelly set, thinking he know's i like him. couldn't find him, so thought maybe he's still in the Boiler Room. plus i thought it'd be ace to catch the rest of Carl Cox's set. fuckin glad i did. it was incredible! lucky to get in tho. they shut the Boiler Room, but i was lucky enough to be near an emergency exit as some nice person swung it open. security got there quick, but i was determined and managed to push my way through. i danced to the last few tracks then went outside to the Ferris Wheel n found Rich who had been waiting there the whole time. bugger. unfortunately he got busted with some green to boot for his troubles. he needed to wind down so we went for one at the Grace. i found it too claustrophobic n needed to still be on the move so walked down to Elder Park n waited for me kind Mum to collect us, stoppin off at Hungry Jacks on the way. spent the next week recovering.

next up was some night time gardening. creating my own Garden Of Unearthly Delights. left it too late to head into town n catch the launch party so had a quiet one instead.

visited Tash n Sime in the morning to borrow some more DVD's and collect the tickets for the evening events. dropped in to see my Nana then that night caught the Darjeeling Ltd at the Moonlight Cinema in Botanic Park, which was incredible. left me feeling so wonderful.

the next night we were in the real Garden of Unearthly Delights watchin Tropfest, a short film festival, which was linked up to a live feed in Sydney for the red carpet express. Marry Me won, which was story of a young girl who was trying to attract the attention of a young boy. the girl won best actress. second place went to one of the funniest films i have ever seen called something like Shark Hunters. no bloody programme given out. this was about these typical aussie blokes who go fishing for White Pointers off some beach, hooked up to some home made bar stool that they rigged on top of a four wheel drive while they each took turns in surfing out with bait to bring the sharks into shore. bearing in mind these guys couldn't really surf n the sharks would often beat em out to shore. i was in tears the whole time, nearly wetting myself with laughter. 3rd place went to a film called Uncle Johnny, which told through the eyes of a young child about the quirkiness of his family, with particular emphasis on what his Uncle Johnny thought.

Monday night we went down the Wheaty n went down to one of the Hipnote sessions that was put on by COMA and watched a bloke we know called Christian put on an electronica set. starting off with George Bush doing a speech finish with the words Man Of Steel. Christian looped these words over n over again making your brain think that he was changing them creating different sounds in your head. really interesting. would have enjoyed it more if there weren't these tossers sitting in front of us chatting the whole time. they soon quietened down when i had some words. poinitng out where the other beer garden was, so therefore i was able to enjoy the next two pieces thoroughly.

next up for the evening was a euro jazz band who flew in to meet up for the start of their tour from Amsterdam and Sydney, with the other artists from Adelaide only seeing most of the pieces the night before. this reminded me of Damo Suzuki who i have seen a few times back in Brum who collabrates with artists on the night n does some type of live jam session. the guys on Mon night style was much different tho. less noisy i guess, just really wonderful jazz.

Tues night went to my friend Annette's son Jayke's 5th birthday passing by my Aunty Barb n Uncle Graham's along the way. enjoyed some nice food with cake to boot then went home n watched a DVD before crashing out.

n yesterday morning i had the privledge of watching Rich perform here live at the Adelaide Uni in the electronic music department, while a live feed with a midi signal was sent to Ant's bedroom as trial run for this up coming Project X event at Concrete, formerly the old Boiler Room back in Brum. with the help from Christian at the Adelaide Uni. afterwards Rich n i grabbed some quick lunch n hired some bikes for free n rode around the city parklands. after the big workout Rich n i made the best tea ever. vegetarian cannelonni, bloody gorgeous! watched another DVD called ordinary people, which Robert Redford directed. i had a much needed cry n went to bed.

now this is where i'm at. listenin to Rich play the piano in the other room whilst i half watch some film on the tele.

hopin to head out to an exibition tomoz night then the Fringe opening party. this will probably be my next blog.

for now,

xXx.
