I came up for breakfast this morning to see the coast of Corsica off the starboard beam. The rugged coast is lined with little bays backed by sand beaches and little villages with a scattering of small island thrown into the mix. Bonifacio is an amazing town and cruising along the coast toward Bonifacio is stunning. It's a beautiful city all perched up on the cliffs. It also has an amazing harbor to boast about too. Being from California, I’m sure to seaside property where the cliffs are endlessly encroaching further and further inland. It doesn’t appear that this town has that problem.

It was a relaxing morning for me as I was sitting on the sun deck chatting with friends on the Internet as we approached Bonifacio. The sun was up and the morning was pleasantly warm. I was the only one on the sundeck so I was playing my iPod playlists over the sundecks speaker system. Every once in awhile the stewardess would come and check on me and on occasion I could hear someone laughing from the decks below.

The harbor is tucked into the back of a long bay behind the cliff-lined peninsula that Bonifacio is built on and is lined with little restaurants and bars. From the harbor it’s about a quarter mile walk up to the old town with the expected narrow windy lanes between the cramped houses above the cliffs.

We ate dinner on the upper deck as we cruised out of Bonifacio and towards Cala de Volpe in Sardinia. It was a beautiful sunset over the ocean with Corsica framing the view.
