The Fortified Village and Castelo Rodrigo
Oct 01, 2004
Castelo Rodrigo is one of 12 historic villages in Portugal, and its medieval streets are breathtaking. The fortified medieval village is perched up on a isolated hill, giving a 360 degree view over spain and portugal. We spend our time wandering the narrow streets, former palace, Rocamadour Church, Jewish Quarters, synagogue, cistern and mikvah. In its prime, Rodrigo was a place of peace for harmony for Christians, Muslims and Jewish religions.
