After several years, I have been itching to return to Spain. Just North of Salamanca is my family's heritage, and the country welcomes me with all of the sweet smells of my Grandma's kitchen. My taste buds were in heaven, as I raced to eat some spanish tapas. Unfortunately, the weather was horrible, and we spend our time hiding from golf ball hail stones.

Salamanca is located in the N/W of spain and is nicknamed the Golden city. Over the centuries, the sandstone renaissance buildings have taken on a golden glow. It even managed to glow under the dark, gloomy hail storm.

The main square is "plaza mayor", and is a beautiful picturesque setting. Unfortunately, I kept my camera at bay due to the weather. We did manage to sneak in a flamingo show and enjoy our selves and the beautiful city, despite the horrible weather.
