Mom and I stayed in Santa Elana, at a beautiful B+B. My Mom reserved a cabana with 2 floors, 2 bed, which I highly recommend.
It rained every day,  and continued throughout the evening. This made for great sleeps and early starts.

This way my 2nd Don Juan Coffee tour, and I loved it. Coffee season starts in October, therefore Mr Juan added a Coco Tour. In addition to the usual coffee tour, we made chocolate and cane syrup from scratch. So yummy.

This time around, we did it right. Mom and I avoided the "rushed and overpriced" tour and found our own way. For 1usd/pp you can grab the bus, allowing you enough time to hike (and not get rushed out). As a result, we were able to hike the continental divide. We did the hike, but the weather was bad. My mom missed the amazing view and had to take my word for it. "behind the rain and clouds, is an amazing view of the Pacific".

Santa Elana reserve was our FAVOURITE!! This could forest is the path less travelled and well worth the visit. It was a nice treat to avoid the crowds and hike without seeing people, only wildlife. Including snakes!! I nearly stepped on one.

From Santa elana, you can catch a glimpse of Areneal Volcano. We cough 25% of her, the rest was hiding in the clouds. Once again, it rained at 1300. Id recommend an early start.

You can catch the shuttle for 2$pp each way and be prepared to pay cash (14usd pp). Cash and no card.
