Less than an hour drive from Burgos is the town of Bangui now known for its Wind Farm. Bangui used to be a peaceful but scenic coastal town with a rich colorful histroy.

With the construction of 15 Vestas wind turbines standing 70 meters tall and arranged on a single row stretching on a three-kilometer shoreline off Bangui Bay facing the South China Sea, the town became a destination to tourists and phtotographers alike.

The Northwind Bangui Bay Project is a 25-megawatt wind power generation plant, the first wind power plant in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia! The facility provides 40% of the power requirement for Ilocos Norte.
