Things have gotten slighlty better for me at school. I still dread mondat afternoons with there year 8 geography classes in a row but in general things are better. My last week I got heaps of Christmas cards and random hugs from my year 7's.
Jo left for Australia on the 15th and had rented out her room. Luckily for me Rebecca was leaving for Sweden on the same day so I could stay in her room. It meant travelling an hour and a half to get to work but I just have to take that.
The weather has been reasonably mild with a couple of really cold spells. No signs of any more snow here though. Despite my endless complaning I have coped well with the cold. It's warm inside at home and warm in the classrooms and when I'm outside I'm generally walking briskly so it hasn't been a problem. London in decorated in pretty lights and there seem to be people selling Chrsitmas trees on every corner. The main shopping street, Oxford street is hideously packed and I wouldn't go near the place.
Jo and I have taken up bikram yoga, that's the one done in the 40 degree room. I had thought that it sounded like torture but after struggling through my first few classes I have decided I really like it.
I had a big night out with Lizzie, a friend I met in Australia a few years back and we went out for Kim's (one of the South African's we were living with)s birthday but apart from that I have been taking it quite easy often finding myself sound asleep on the couch at 10pm on a Friday night. As it gets dark here so early it's possible to go staright from school to the pub for a couple of drinks and be home by 8pm feeling like I've had a big night out!!
The last Sunday I wen to a Christmas party at a lady from work's place which was nice exceot that it was on a Sunday night and I lost my voice! We also had a staff dinner and staff lunch so it was a very busy week socially and much too much food consumed. Looking forward to a much needed break.
