The ferry from Bari to Dubrovnik, on the South coast of Croatia was a huge step up from the previous Corfu to Bari. We set up camp in an inside lounge along with several other young couples and actually managed to get a few good hours sleep. As we arrived into Dubrovnik at 8 am it started to rain which we later found out was the first rain they had had in four months!!

As we walked into the ferry terminal we were approached by a great ogre of a man trying to sell us accommodation, Nicola his name was and he turned out to be the greatest person ever! He drove us in his nice new van to his place, we could check in straight away and got a good price. There was a huge communal kitchen and a little balcony with views of the mountains. Nicola also offers himself as the personal chauffeur to all his guests. The old town and main tourist area is about a 25 min walk but Nicola insisted on driving everyone and when we wanted picking up all we had to do was send an SMS. The van was always full of people getting picked up or dropped off somewhere so it was always very interesting. Arriving in Croatia

Nicola was also an infinite source of knowledge and could organize anything. "Oh you want go to Montenegro.. ok I take you, when you want go? Tomorrow, ok no problem, I charge you only same price as bus ticket, my cousin drive you. What time? Ok see you 9 oclock tomorrow." It was great!

Dubrovnik is a really pretty place, we stayed in a place called Lapad which is on the peninsula. The coast line is gorgeous and we spent some time just walking around an enjoying the views. The main attraction though is the old town, the old city built right on the waters edge inside medieval walls. It would have been incredibly impressive had it not been for the 2-3 cruise liners that stop there every day ensuring the place is flocked with middle aged American and European package tourists.

We had considered doing a day trip out to some islands but considering the bad weather we decided we would go to Montenegro instead.

The day we were leaving we had to check out at 10am. We were still allowed access to the kitchen and communal areas which was nice seeing as we weren't leaving until 10pm. We cooked dinner and sampled some Croatian wine to pass the time. We got talking to an Australian family who insisted we drink more wine and by the time we boarded the bus I was incredibly tipsy. Nicola drove us to bus station and talked to the bus driver and got us cheaper tickets before leaving us with a bottle of his homemade wine.

Wow!

Wow wow wow.

Met a girl just like you. Her name is Abbey and to quote kobi telling Mel about her 'you know how maria wears bits of string around her wrist? Abbey was wearing bits of string around her wrist. And you know how Maria always has cuts on her feet? well so did she!'

I don't have facebook at work anymore and me and Danielle don't have it at home so will have to start emailing you the old fashioned way xx
