Where I stayed
Joe Wheeler State Park marina
There will be more details sometime next week but for now here are some pictures of the NEW HOUSE. That's right. We have a new boat. The short version is that the Balboa was sold last Friday and by Sunday the result of a casual inquiry while walking past a neglected sailboat here at the marina resulted in me buying it today. (Aug. 25). We have moved up to a 32' yacht this time. The Balboa is fine for weekends and maybe short trips but for full time live aboard and intended ocean cruising we knew we needed something larger and the original intent was to use My House as a means to shop for the next step towards a larger boat. Mission accomplished.
This is a 1979 Islander 32. A real project boat like the Balboa was but with good bones, a diesel engine, steering wheel instead of a tiller, auto pilot, AND------ a toilet and shower
The interior is in need of lots of TLC and will come along nicely. I will post progress as it happens.
I have a quest for all of you. A new name is needed and I want all of you to make suggestions. The only request is that it must have house or home theme. No promises that we will actually use one of the names but if we do there is a prize.
Many years ago my Mom was on the women's auxiliary of the volunteer fire dept. of Gamaliel Ark. She organized all the ladies into making a cookbook for a fund raiser at the fire station. It is a compilation of Ozark recipes donated by all the local ladies and their families. Some real serious down home cooking of many generations. If we choose one of the submitted names you will get a disk with the whole book. There were only 500 copies ever made and they sold out quickly
So, fellow travelers, have at it. make a post in "comments" and lets see how creative y'all can be. More details on the sale and purchase soon come. For now after you look at the pictures of the new project go to this link to see what it's supposed to look like and will soon.

We Travel with the Idea That If we have no schedule, we aren't late. If we don't care where we are, we aren't lost. If we have no itinerary we're exactly where we ought to be. If we can't see it this trip, we'll see it next time
