Last fall we had made contact with a man who has a 31' pilothouse sailboat who wanted to trade for a smaller sailboat with a trailer. We did not have time to see each others boats so waited out the winter and drove from Memphis to the Park marina.
The viewing went well and the boat had a lot of improvements over My-house. More space and a diesel engine instead of an outboard. He ended up asking for quite a bit more than we were lead to believe at first so we decided to talk about it for awhile and get back to him later.
We drove the rest of the way back to Aqua Yacht Harbor and were very pleased to find that My-house had weathered the winter with no damage
We were happy to see friends we had made last fall and proceeded to put the boat back together over the next few days with perfect weather. During this time I finally got around to finalizing the installation of the used bimini top bought back at Lake Ozark. It was too big for the sailboat so I took a hacksaw to it and made a few modifications. It is a 4 bow cover and I only needed 3 so I just didn't install the 4th piece of tubing and instead just attach the remaining cloth to the mainsail traveler to act as a cockpit dodger while we are docked or anchored. When we travel I just fold the extra cloth back and out of the way.
During the next week or so we had several contacts with the owner of the other boat that resulted in us getting further and further away from making a deal and communications broke off.
We then decided not to go back downstream to Kentucky lake for the summer and instead opted to go upstream on the Tennessee river through the next 2 dams to go exploring and find a nice place to use as a home base until Oct when we will continue our trip down the Tenn-Tom waterway to the Gulf.
