Most definitely the farthest I've ever found myself from home on Independence Day. (Irony noticed, but not intended J) In my experience, you can get a great feel for the city based on the feel of its airport, and HKG international is really no different. It seems as though it is trying to constantly push the limits of technology and efficiency. The architecture is beautiful but extremely utilitarian, lots of steel and gleaming white surfaces. They also have a thermal imaging camera trained on you as you exit the plane, to screen for those who may be carrying some sort of fever. The food was pricey but decent. My only wish was that I had more time to experience the city, but off we go again!
