Well its finally happening; Jessie and I managed to squeeze what would have been months of organization into about a month and a half to fit our timelines, and it worked! We are on our way to India! After some choked-up goodbyes (on all sides) we hopped on a plane bound for Hong Kong, some of my dad's sagely advice still ringing in my ears, "Sleep as much as you can, it'll make it easier to adjust." Sound advice to be sure. It did work better however, when I was younger: excitement about a trip would lead to a roller coaster of excitement and energy, and after an hour of frenzied madness, I would collapse into a heap of 10 year-old and sleep. Not so much these days. My age has brought along something others call "caution" if you are nice, "neurosis" if you're a little less kind when referring to my travel behavior. This leads me to do a periodic check of all m important documents and run through all scenarios and situations in my mind. This coupled with the crying babies the row in front of us and the turbulence that was on a timer for when dozing off started, and needless to say I was up the entire 16 hours. This is not to say that I wasn't enjoying myself. Cathay Pacific (bless them) had provided a veritable carnival of entertainment, and I managed to blast through around 4 or 5 major movies, 8 to 10 sitcoms, several hours of trivia and language learning software, and 2 novels. Not too shabby a use of time.

I just read all eleven entries in one sitting. Keep writing these, because I can vicariously have an exciting summer through these blogs, haha.
