It's been a relaxing first 2 days and has started out as a normal vacation, although was turning a little more Japanese today. On Friday we spent the middle of the day at the pool with one of Chrystal's friends and her two daughters. They were adorable of course and the pool was huge! The strangest thing about it though it that it had really high sides. On the long sides the top of the wall was about a foot above the water and on the short sides it was at least 2 feet! Then we went to the gym for a while and had a nice chicken dinner. It was a very nice way to start getting adjusted to the time difference.
One thing Chrystal had told me about was that since they don't do daylight savings time the sun comes up at about 4 am. I didn't really experience that the first night but last night I woke up for about a hour and a half but luckily I was able to get back to sleep
Then on Saturday we went to make curry rice with another of Chrystal's friends, her 2 sons and a nice Japanese lady that Chrystal's friend teaches with. It was a lot of fun, the boys were adorable and the curry rice was great! Once we were done with that we went over to a mall, I think the name was Maretsu and we did a little grocery shopping and then went to the 100 yen store and I bought lots of fun stuff! The whole place was a bit overwhelming but it was neat to see. Once we were done we went back to base and made a couple of stops. Then we went to see a movie on base and then went to dinner. We were going to go to the sushi go round but the line was really long so we went to Chrystal's favorite sushi place instead. It was very good, although a little heavy handy with the wasabi. Good thing I like it. :-) I also had sake for the first time, it was good but man it was strong! But now it's time for bed, gotta get up early for the first tour of the trip! Off to Fuji tomorrow.

The vending machines in Japan are cool!

100 Yen Store - pretty funny :) Yeah, good thing you like the hot sauce. Glad you're having a nice time and meeting people.w Love, Dad
Good start!
Sounds like you're getting some rest at least since it IS a vacation! :) I tried subscribing to the blog, but it didn't send me any emails so I was a bit behind reading your blogs so far! The 100 Yen store was GREAT wasn't it?!?!?! I bought so much stuff there when I went! I think it was 2 levels or something at the one in Totorri-ken, but not everything is actually 100 yen in some places. I'm excited to hear about Mt. Fuji. Scott is here, sleeping on your couch. Did you hug Chrystal for me??? :)
Sent from your laptop.
Re: Good start!
I haven't given her your hug yet, I figured we shouldn't spend the first few days just hugging. :-) lol Why is Scott sleeping on my couch? I know it's comfy and all....
