So here we are again! Back in Bangkok...BUT just a little bit different this time, as I'm sure most of you have heard.

We got off our night bus from Vientiane at around 4am right onto Khao San.  We knew stuff was going down at the airports, and everything seemed normal in backpacker world.  We checked into a hotel room and I went to check the internet.  I guess there had been an explosion at Government House and things were getting tense.  I received word from my parents that they could not fly into Thailand and that they were searching for a Plan B. In the meantime they wanted us to find way out of Bangkok.  I was able to book a flight from Krabi to Kuala Lumpur for Dec 5th.  The buses have been crazy so we are not able to get on one to Krabi until the 3rd.  Until then we have just been doing the Khao San strip as per usual.  One last trip out to the weekend market two days ago, gave us some views of blockages and major police presence.  But we have decided to make the most of our last days here in Bangkok.  Staying close to the hotel we've been last minute shopping, getting hair cuts, and the river scrubbed out of our skin, eating at old haunts, visiting our bucket ladies (no drinking!), and doing some major internet catch up.  It's sad that we have to leave Bangkok on such a note. We have come to love this city and the protests are definitely going to have a major financial impact on the people of Bangkok for years to come.  Hopefully things get better before hell breaks loose.  Fingers are crossed for them.

So plan B is now in effect.  We are meeting the parents in Bali, Indonesia on Dec 5th.  My brother and I will fly directly from KL to Bali, while Nadia will fly KL to Hong Kong and then home.   It will be a long haul, but I think a few weeks on the beaches of Bali will be enough to recover J   Too bad we cannot show the parents Thailand, but I am really excited to check out a new country.  Seems like home is getting too close for comfort! Time has just flown by!

That's my update from Bangkok. All is well, we are safe and sound, and we will promise to stay that way, so no more worrying!! I'm sure things seem worse from the other side of the world, but I just want you guys to know they keep us tourists very safe here!

Bali bound baby! whooooooo
