Hellllllo Kitttty! We made it!!!! Whooop whooop!!!
Our flight over was actually surprisingly good with Air Canada. The flight was only about 1/2 full so we were able to spread out. Nadia took some sleep time pills and passed out, while I proceeded to make friends with little green bottles! I don't know what they expected when they are free. Watched a few movies, gambled on Antiques Roadshow with the guys in the seats in front, ate a lot of food, and finally slept with about 2 hours left of the flight. Woke up not feeling to snappy! But we did discover that the Antique gamblers were staying at the same hotel as us in HK. Small world indeed. They were flying over to meet up with a friend, stay one night and then proceed to their new teaching jobs in China. So we used their friend's expertise to get ourselves to the hotel. The MTR (subway) is wicked awesome here. Got to the hotel (very nice for what we paid), and slept slept slept
Woke up on Tuesday (2) and went about checking out the city. Weather was nice and clear. Took the "famous" Star Ferry across the harbour and went on a "walking tour" (my words for getting somewhat lost), to find the Vietnamese embassy. Finally found it, only to discover it was Vietnam's only holiday of the year in which they are CLOSED. Toured around some more and headed back to the hotel with intentions of having naps. Nap time ended up being from 3:00pm to 4:00am then next morning! Oooops.
Woke up and thought a nice work out would get the blood flowing. Got geared up and went for a run. Lovely time until the thunderstorm hit and we got absolutely soaked. Suddenly our conservative running outfits were not so conservative and we hurried back to the hotel. The rest of the day we headed on a bus out to Stanley on the south end of Hong Kong Island. It was a really beautiful sea side town. Purchased our first Hong Kong items. We then went to Repulse Bay, which is a gorgeous beach. Swam in the South China Sea!! Who knew! The night consisted of us hitting up the Temple Street Night Market and going to bed early.
This morning we finally feel rested and are heading off to Disneyland and Lantau Island. Should be a cheese fest, but I know we are up to it. We did get our Vietnam visas changed so we can head in earlier. Fly to Hanoi on Saturday. I will get pictures uploaded there and fill ya'll in!

The home front - Hello Kittttyyyyy
Great update, sounds like you are all caught up on your sleep. All is well here except I had a fender bender with the civic today....I hit the house here. Dont ask how I did it. So I am getting a new driver door and Duncan and I now know how to fix garage door tracking systems. Who Knew! Have a great time in Dland, say hi to Mickey. Glad to hear you were able to head to Vietnam early. I also googled earth'd your hotel in Hong Kong, lots of pics posted near it - did you guys go up in the observatory yet???
Take care, love you! Mom & Doodles.
Good Work Blondies
Blondies will be your temporary Amazing Race name until you two or I can come up with something better.
Well Vietnam will be interesting, keep on trooping, nothing has changed back here...
