This posting has absolutely nothing to do with our travels. There is nothing even remotely linked to our new home or for that matter our current home on wheels. What this does have to do with is a very simple question I need answered by those who are guilty. Those that can't seem to help themselves. Those that have done this oh so many times. For this reason and none other do I write this.

By now you are wondering what is this nut talking about, right. Well here it is, plain and simple. WHY DO PEOPLE PUT THOSE RIDICULOUS, IDIOTIC, SILLY HEAD BANDS ON A BABY!!!!!

Now I am a firm believer with every ounce of my soul, that all babies are beautiful. God has created something as close to perfection as there can be. No matter what shape, size or color. Fat, skinny, hairy or bald. No one with a heart, soul or brain can see anything but pure beauty. Can you think of one thing on this Earth that even comes close to the little face of a baby? Laughing, crying, screaming or sleeping they are a true masterpiece. They are born pure and innocent no matter what the parents might have to offer. They bring us joy and pride.

With all this said, answer me why then do folks feel the absolute need to put this insane headgear on them and snap a picture. Then, these same folks, show every living creature they know, and expect you to shower them with positive responses. Show me a picture of your beautiful baby as God intended. That’s why they are so cute and perfect.

What is even more insane is the fact that those guilty of this punishment are the same people that often times make comments about someone else’s baby who has headgear attached and shot with the camera. I just want to know why? Why do you do it? I would bet that if I asked you to put on a silly head piece and let me take your picture you wouldn’t let me do it.

Rest assured, as sure as we breathe, that this picture will end up at every one of this babies milestones in life. Birthday parties, Christenings, Mitzvah’s, whatever. Let us not forget the image must be shown to the new boy or girl friend when the time is right also. Why? Why do you do it?

Now all of you must be saying to yourself "where did this come from"? Well Gail has shown me pictures of the newest member of our family. A beautiful baby girl named Emma, who I have yet to be able to see in person. Yup you guessed it; there it was right before my eyes. A beautiful baby girl with a silly headpiece on with a flower bigger then this poor child’s head! I looked and I could feel her asking “help Uncle Mike, look what they have done to me”! I hear you Emma and I will crusade for you. I will protest for you and rest assured we will WIN! Never again. Not on my watch.

To all those who truly know I am in the right, help fight the fight. To those that are guilty, STOP. Stop this abuse. To Allison, Uncle Mike has baby pictures of you that you would not like people to see. To Linda my sister-in-law, what were you thinking? To everyone else, thanks for letting me vent.

You all might have noticed there are not any pictures of our beautiful Emma with this post. I refuse to punish this innocent child by posting a picture of her wearing headgear. As soon as her Mother sends Uncle Mike pictures of her in all her glorious beauty they will be posted with pride. Emma, Uncle Mike is here for you!

Linda Shultz on

After arriving home on Monday, the 10th, and getting bad news regarding a dear friend, I need this smile. Do not ever stop writing. In fact, you should start thinking about writing a book.
