After looking at some very nice units, (condos are a dime a dozen here in Myrtle Beach) I pulled Bob on the side and asked to start seeing some single homes. Gail and I had explored a new sub-division the day before and found a very nice home that Gail fell in love with. As luck would have it and not knowing we had been there, Bob took us to the same sub-division and showed us a home that the builder built as a model, added upgrades and had never used it as a model
Gail has fallen in love with both the house and the neighborhood. We have been back 3 times now, walking around in the house and visiting the neighborhood after dark. Gail I believe has found us a new winter home. She has asked if we could buy it and we are talking about making an offer. We have never before owned a new home of our own. Our other homes have all been someone elses and Gail spent years making them "ours". This home would be hers and hers alone. New, everything new. No patching, fixing, redoing anything.
This home sits on a Lagoon in the back. The view from the rear of the house is wonderful. Baxter will have a yard to call his own and ducks to chase around. Yes, he most likely will get in trouble for going for a swim but that's life. The big screen room will be just what Harry needs. Morning sun and the shade of afternoons, laying around and taking a nice nap. Gail will be in her glory. Starting from zero. No furniture, nothing. We sold it all. She will have the task of decorating on a tight budget. Me, well I will be happy everyone else is happy. I will have another place to call home
The next day or so we shall make the decision to buy or not. Whatever makes Gail happy is fine with me.
I now sometimes start to think of the future. I want, no need, to make sure everything in our lives is in order. I will not be here forever. But while I am here I'm going to make sure that we both enjoy life to the fullest. That we want for nothing and never regret not doing something. With that said, who knows? 619 Crest View Court might just be our new winter address. Hey, Santa has brought Gail everything from breath mints to new cars. Maybe this year he will bring a new home. Be well and Happy Holidays
